The Marco Pantani Foundation in 2018 engaged in:

* Direct management of Spazio Pantani (Multimedia Museum dedicated to Marco Pantani, open all year round, and with the aim of carrying out, alongside the typical function of a museum, also all the merchandising activities, aimed at financing charitable works)

* Support and Assistance to Pantani Corse in Cesenatico. This is an association that moves like a cycling school, reserved for girls and boys aged 6 to 12, taking part in the cycling calendar in the “Youth” category.

* Support for the creation of a youth cycling team in Vinkovci-Croatia. It was a specific will of the champion. That of teaching the sport of bicycles to the very young, so after supporting the Croatian Red Cross in the demining of areas close to inhabited areas, the Marco Pantani Foundation sent all the necessary material for the opening of a Pantani Corse in Croatia to encourage the practice of this sport among the very young.

* Teaching of cycling in schools. Since 2008, the Marco Pantani Foundation has brought cycling to elementary schools in Cesenatico to teach the foundations of sport to children aged 6 to 12. Following this initiative, a team of very young people in the name of Marco Pantani was also set up in Cesenatico.

 

Collateral activities and collaborations in favor of the bicycle sport:

* Organization of the (10th edition) Gran Fondo Marco Pantani (ex Pantanissima). The first Gran Fondo realized directly by ASD Amici di Marco Pantani in collaboration with the Marco Pantani Foundation with the dual aim of keeping the memory of Marco Pantani alive and raising funds for social activities related to youth cycling and cycling for the disabled. The thirteenth edition of the GF was a success for participation (almost 1200 starting athletes) and media interest.

* Establishment and assistance of the Amateur Cycling Group “Friends of Marco Pantani”. The G.C. Amici di Marco Pantani has counted in its first year of activity 40 athletes who have carried out amateur activities at national level. The athletes enrolled in the group come from the most disparate Italian regions (Emilia Romagna, Veneto, Lombardy, Piedmont, Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, etc …)

* Organization of “The yellow night 2019” at the municipal theater of Cesenatico on 1 September 2018, an evening dedicated to Marco Pantani, with the aim of raising funds to be allocated to charity. * Collaboration with the Historical Cultural Exhibition of Cycling in Cesenatico.

* Collaboration with “The call of the climb” by Francesco Mattonai in the realization of the show on the life of Marco Pantani. A monologue, interspersed with repertoire videos, which traces the career of the Romagna cyclist from the beginnings to the great enterprises, from triumphs to serious accidents.

* Authorization and collaboration of the “Pantani day” event organized by the sports group Funtos Bike, a Spinbike event in Omegna VB, 4 hours of pedaling, in memory of Marco Pantani.

* Collaboration with Bike Shop Test e-powered by Bosch 5 cycling weekends where enthusiasts gather to test road bikes, mountain bikes, e-bikes, urban bikes, but also components, supplements, clothing and accessories.

* Collaboration with Mazapegul Brewery, a Romagna brewery, with the special production of an excellent IL PIRATA craft beer. Belgian-inspired, orange in color, white and creamy foam. The fruity and spicy notes are combined with hints of bread crust and citrus. The bitterness of the hops perfectly balances the fruity and sweet taste.

* Collaboration with Cantina Boccadoro, with the production of A special Brut, dedicated to the legend of Italian cycling Marco Pantani.

* Exhibition inside the Romagna Shopping Valley of the most significant objects of the Pirate

* Support for the “Cuore in Comune” project, a project for the donation of a defibrillator and a first aid information app with a map of all the defibrillators that embrace the city of Cesenatico and make it even more Cardio Protected.

* Collaboration in the realization of the work on the climb of Oropa “the bandana” created by the designer Paolo Barichello remembering the champion in the exact point where the “Pirata” fell the chain during the “Giro d’Italia” in 1999. The sculpture (4 meters and 6 meters long) is the symbol of the extraordinary and unforgettable comeback that led Pantani to victory in the Oropa stage.

* Collaboration with the organization of the Marco Pantani Memorial, a competition for professional cyclists held in September in Cesenatico

* Support for Michael Antonelli young junior cyclist victim of a serious accident. The San Marino rider was involved in a fall during the 72nd edition of the Firenze-Viareggio (former rider of the Alice bike Team).

* Support to the Alice Bike Myglass cycling team
